When building the concept, we were inspired by the highest levels of design, service, and culinary craft. We studied what we knew, merged our experiences and expertise, and set out to create a place that delivered real value while holding onto everything we cherish about hospitality. BIGFAN was designed to ignite the senses — to offer an escape. It was important to us that everyone felt free to be themselves in our madhouse, because we believe that’s when the experience can truly be embraced. By working with local producers and combining their ingredients with refined Chinese craft, we set out to create bold, flavour-driven dishes and a fun, dynamic dining experience — layered with subtle, thoughtful details, yet always without fuss. To be awarded the MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand by @michelinguide after five years is a beautiful acknowledgement of what we set out to achieve — not with accolades in mind, but with the simple goal of creating an inclusive space where everyone could enjoy great food and hopefully discover something new. Thank you to @michelinguide , to all of our team — past and present — and of course to our beloved city, Dublin, and everyone who has visited and helped us keep the dream alive. This is a hard one. Anyone who knows BIGFAN knows just how much this man means to us. Tom has been with us since the very beginning. He has seen it all — from being a labourer during the build, to FOH manager, and finally front and centre in the kitchen. He has touched every part of what we’ve built here, and he’s done it all with a heart that is simply too big for his body. Thank you, Tom, for everything you’ve given — your time, your energy, your care, and your generous soul. You are family, and you always will be.
